About Us

The name Moana symbolises celebrity chef Alex Kaihea and co-owner Danielle Niuhulu’s journey through the ocean from New Zealand to the Gold Coast Australia.

Seafood is the star of our menu. We serve freshly caught seafood from local trawlers. The must-try is Chef Alex’s traditional, mouth-watering Tongan ‘ota ika’ – raw snapper fillets marinated in lime, cucumber, capsicum, spring onion and coconut cream, topped with taro chips.

Offering impeccable service, a relaxing ambience and seating for around 150. We draw in local diners with a menu that accommodates everything from casual weekday family dinners to special occasions, and everything in between.

For non-seafood lovers, we also offer a range of delicious salads, seared lamb fillet, twice cooked half duck, free-range pork belly and gnocchi, and more.
